Our Carbon

At Carbon Craze, we specialise in premium-quality carbon fibre available in two forms: dry carbon fibre and wet carbon fibre. The key differences between them stem from their manufacturing processes, appearance, and performance characteristics, which impact their strength, weight, and typical uses.

Here's everything you need to know:

DRY CARBON FIBRE
Our dry carbon fibre is pre-coated with resin at a typical ratio of 33% and kept cold to prevent premature curing. It is moulded and hardened using heat and pressure, often in an autoclave, resulting in a strong, lightweight product with an even resin distribution and minimal imperfections. Due to the lower resin content and controlled curing process, dry carbon is stronger and lighter than wet carbon, with an ideal resin-to-fibre ratio that ensures superior structural integrity. It typically has a clean, smooth finish, but is more expensive due to the specialised equipment and materials required for its production.

WET CARBON FIBRE
Our wet carbon fibre is produced by hand-applying liquid resin to carbon fibre sheets, which are then cured in a mould, often using a vacuum bag. It is generally heavier and not as strong as dry carbon. Wet carbon has a glossy, eye-catching finish and remains a popular choice for aesthetic applications where strength is less critical. It is also more affordable than dry carbon, making it a cost-effective option for many projects.
